FYI! Last read at 14:39 on 2025/04/05.

They took away my squeegee!

I had a yellow plastic squeegee to swish around the floor. They've all been replaced with this dopey thing that's like a piece of hard polystyrene. It is incapable of scraping stuff off the floor, it is barely capable of removing water off the floor, and furthermore it is incapable of bending to fit the contours of the floor. Useless piece of crap.

I think I'm fitting into my job more now that I know the routine and what is going on and where things go. I'm sure I will feel different next week (the 5am starts), but for now...

...and shhhh, I don't want to jinx it, but the word went around that they were looking for some people to work only in the afternoons. It will be naff to end at 11pm, but infinitely better than 5am starts.
Anyway, I've put my name forward. Let's see what happens.

MiniBBS

Download "minibbs001a2_setup.exe" (243KiB)

LICENCE: This is for private use only. You are not permitted to make this available for download in any way. It doesn't do much, so why would you? © 2008 Rick Murray, all rights reserved.

This has evolved only so much that it reads a name and a password. It doesn't do anything else, but it's a teeny-tiny step if the right direction.
Something else, following a request by Mick Champion, is the ability to alter the port that MiniBBS responds on.

The earlier version of MiniBBS has been tested and shown to work both via a local intranet, and also across the internet using a setup with two ADSL connections.

Your comments:

As of February 2025, commenting is no longer available to UK residents, following the implementation of the vague and overly broad Online Safety Act. You must tick the box below to verify that you are not a UK resident, and you expressly agree if you are in fact a UK resident that you will indemnify me (Richard Murray), as well as the person maintaining my site (Rob O'Donnell), the hosting providers, and so on. It's a shitty law, complain to your MP.
It's not that I don't want to hear from my British friends, it's because your country makes stupid laws.
