I ordered a mosquito net, Amazon promised next day delivery. But for that night? I couldn't suffer another night like that, so I bought a cheap bedsheet and wrapped myself up like a mummy (over my head and everything). It was hot, suffocating, and unpleasant, but I at least got some sleep.
Amazon came through. Sitting on a table in the shed (according to instructions I printed and stuck to the door) when I came home from work was a lightweight parcel. A mosquito net made in China. But as far as I'm concerned it could be made on Mars for all I care. I put it around myself in bed, used some clothes pegs to ensure it stayed closed. It's a little awkward to get in and out of, but blessed relief, I had a decent sleep last night.
I let her out and bring her up by the house every day for a while when I come home. I'm sitting in the shade of a tree writing this, and she's rummaging around the scented pea.
Because videos are large and large takes time to upload (a lot of time! my upstream is about 750kbit/sec), the videos are now 720p instead of 1080p.
Here's a compilation of bits that I recorded over the past couple of days:
And as I was uploading that, she decided that the perfect response to me tugging her tail was...to tug it herself!
A brave sparrow dived into the water-filled pot base that I left out for the birds. Anna saw the sparrow land, but was looking at me as if to say "huh?" when it took off. So she went over, to see where the sparrow went.
Her reaction to seeing me drink tea for the first time was priceless. So glad I had the camera in my hand.
That said, she has taken to giving me a really expressive looks.
It's been a long time since I've had a kitten in my life. I'd forgotten that kittens are very accomplished at going up, they're just not so good at the down part.
And one final photo:
Bloody vampires
So, I have a bug screen in the window. Most things around here are dry (even after the rain!), there's a citronella odour dispenser (sticks in liquid) and a plug-in heated odour thingy.
All of that, and Monday-Tuesday night I was eaten alive by the bloody vampire bug. I don't know how it got in, we don't have much of a problem with mosquitos. But right now, there's a problem.
I was a zombie at work, having slept for maybe an hour.
Cute kitten being cute
More photos and videos were requested. Well, it doesn't take much to get content where Anna is being cute - you pretty much just need to point a camera at her.
She's also really good at crashing into the camera.
My tail is here somewhere.
"There's a sparrow in here somewhere..."
"You're drinking what?"
"Human, you're so fmewing weird."
"Help!?"
"It wasn't me, I wasn't there, I didn't do it."
