Rick's Shortbread biscuits
I like shortbread. Now, this recipe won't turn out a biscuit as good as a
"Walkers"™ biscuit, but it isn't bad. And it is very easy to make.
You will need the following ingredients:
- 4 oz. (125g) butter or margarine
- 2 oz. (65g) sugar, preferably caster sugar
- 8 oz. (250g) plain flour
- A pinch of salt
And the following equipment:
- An oven, heated to gas mark 3 (160 centigrade or 325 farenheit)
- A mixing bowl
- A wooden spoon
- An electric mixer, though not essential
- A wire mesh sieve, though not essential
- A rolling board and rolling pin
- A baking tray, lined with aluminium foil, then lightly floured
- A sharp knife
- A fork
- A weighing device - scales or an electronic gizmo
