What my teletext software can do for you
|
|
There are two different versions of my teletext software. They, essentially, perform the same task. The original software is for Acorn RISC OS, the later version is for Microsoft Windows.
Teletext (for RISC OS)
My Teletext software offers...
- Powerful script interpreter, so you can get even more out of teletext.
- Save your frames in a variety of formats - teletext, ansi, ascii, sprite, ovationpro...
- Click on page numbers in the window to select that page, making teletext as easy as
point'n'click.
- Easy to configure. Here you can see the configuration window, and the 'Preferred pages'
list.
- Supports the Level 1 teletext specification (including flashing text).
- Cache, with user-definable expiry, to allow already fetched pages to be brought up
instantly, rather than waiting for the page to roll around again.
Expiry is performed automatically, when !Teletext is started.
- Comprehensive keyboard control.
And the best bit...
It is completely free!
Teletext (for Windows)
My WinTTX software offers...
- A complete Level 1.5 teletext emulation including mosaic 'graphics' (can be switched off),
colour (can be switched off), flashing text, and Western European language support
(customisable).
- Save your frames in a variety of formats - Native, (RISC OS) !Teletext, BBC screen,
page buffer dump, ASCII, BMP, or OvationPro.
Automatic character conversion for ASCII and OvationPro output (converts teletext
characters to best equivalent in Latin1 (mostly CP-1252) character set).
- Click on page numbers in the window to select that page, making teletext as easy as
point'n'click. Support also for FastText (linked coloured text at the bottom of the
screen).
- Easy to set up. Here you can see the 'Preferred pages' editor.
- Cache, with automatic expiry, to allow already fetched pages to be brought up
instantly, rather than waiting for the page to roll around again.
Expiry is performed automatically, when WinTTX is started.
- Comprehensive keyboard control.
- Various diagnostic utilities to aid in communicating with your teletext receiver; and
also for setting the computer's clock from teletext signals.
- Extended features to view codes embedded in teletext pages, and/or a hex dump of the two
page buffers.
- Print teletext pages in colour or inverted monochrome.
- Separate IIC module (as a DLL) which is fully documented and may either be used in your
own software, or replaced with a version to interface to your own custom interface (if,
for example, the parallel wiring is different or you use a MAX232 hooked to a serial
port...).
And the best bit...
This one is completely free too!
