The Eurovision Song Contest 2004
VOTING
Now with video links for the reading of the votes, we can see who is selected to represent the
country concerned to all of Europe and everybody else across the world who watch the contest...
Note - the Maltese entry is incorrect, as is either the Greek or the Cyrpiot. I'll fix these pictures soon...
Andorra
Albania
Austria
They were making a bit of a party of it...
Bosnia
Belgium
Belarus
Switzerland (Confederation Helveticæ)
Wasn't she one of the singers in the Swiss entry this year!?!? :-)
Serbia & Montenegro
Cyprus
picture coming soon
Germany
You can see how seriously the Germans take it all!
Denmark
Estonia
Spain
A DOG of annoying proportions.
Finland
Odd lighting for this; and possibly one of the smallest DOGs ever!
France
Oh, le Tour Eiffel. Quelle cliché!
No DOG here, I expected '1' or 'F2' or something...
United Kingdom
Whatever happened to the jolly old bloke? This is Lorraine Kelly, and this is the largest of all
of the vote picture JPEGs (in bytes, not dimensions) - it must be the dress she's wearing! :-)
Greece
And, behind him, if you're lucky, you might see somebody trying to build something in time for
the Olympics...
Croatia
Ireland
It's a wonder there are 'Troubles' in Ireland, they always seem so laid back and friendly...
Israel
Iceland
She's cute...
Lithuania
Latvia
What a big, complicated, DOG!
Monaco
Mmm, you'd have thought they'd have asked Princess Stephanie to do this...
F.Y.R. Macedonia
No, it isn't Leanne Womack - honestly!
Malta
Netherlands
Norway
She is remarkably jolly, considering that nobody was voting for Norway...
Poland
# Oh Lord won't you give me a girl with a smile?
# He looks like an accountant, I'd run a mile!
# Maybe he's thinking of taxes all the while,
# so Lord won't you give me a girl with a smile?
Also, the kind of DOG that makes you wish they didn't have DOGs (like Spain's TVE).
Portugal
Mmm, there doesn't appear to be any DOG in this picture (the ARD1 logo (1 in a circle) is added
by the German re-broadcaster).
Romania
( when I said "a girl with a smile", this is what I had in mind! )
Russia
Sweden
The only country to caption the broadcast, so say hello to Jovan Radomir...
Slovenia
Turkey
Ukraine
If you've come this far and are scratching your head over my varied doggy comments: a DOG is a
Digital On-screen Graphic - those dumb logos that broadcasters feel it is necessary to insert
into the television picture either in case you're too stupid to remember what channel you are
watching, or in case you have thoughts of taping things and running off loads of copies as
'originals'; though whatever the excuse, some DOGs we can live with while others epitomise the
very essence of "bloody annoying", and yes, this is all one sentence - call me Ally
McBeal...
